How To Make a Punching Bag Using Old Tires
If you like training outdoors and want a punching bag that you could leave out and it’s not going to deteriorate in the weather, then make yourself one of these. I made this one from old tires that I got for free from a tire shop. Most tire shops will be happy to donate some old tires if you tell them they will be used to make a punching bag. The steps below give you a basic overview of how to make one yourself. For more detailed instructions check out my Fighter DIY eBook.
5-Step Instructions on How To Make an Outdoor Punching Bag Using Old Tires:
- Get 6 old tires by visiting your local tire shop and asking them to donate 6 old tires. Tell them it’s for a punching bag and they will be happy to let you have them for free.
- Buy two PVC pipes the length of your stack of tires.
- Drill holes on either side of each tire, making sure all the holes line up, so you can thread your PVC pipes through the holes, thus bracing the tires together.
- Use rope or straps to strap the tires together and stop them from coming apart.
- Attach a carabina to the top of each strap or rope for hanging your tire punching bag.
